The 2014 installment of the Motor City Open Presented by The Suburban Collection will boast the strongest field in the tournament’s fifteen year history.

Featuring 9 of the world’s top-15 squash professionals, the 2014 Motor City Open will be fiercely contested. The last four champions make their return in Amr Shabana (2013), Ong Beng Hee (2012), Mohamed El Shorbagy (2011), and Karim Darwish (2010). They will be hoping to do what only Canada’s Jonathon Power has done and win a second Motor City Open crown.

Joining the four returning champions will be England’s Peter Barker, Egypt’s Omar Mosaad and Tarek Momen, Columbian Miguel Angel Rodriguez, India’s Saurav Ghosal, and Frenchman Mathieu Castagnet.

Motor City Open regulars Cameron Pilley of Australia and South African Stephen Coppinger will be hoping to continue their run of good form during the event.

The 2014 Motor City Open runs from January 23 – 28. What will follow next Thursday’s kickoff is six days of furious squash action as the world’s best slug it out to claim the champion’s share of the prize money, a Rolex watch courtesy of Greenstone’s Jewelers, and engrave their name on the Motor City Open trophy.
